Champion Bowland's Tramper off-road access vehicle is back on track after a service - and available for hire at Gisburn Forest Hub.

The Tramper is a specially designed, all-terrain electric buggy, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It enables people who have difficulty walking, who are less able or who may be disabled to experience the countryside; and to accompany friends and family when out walking.

It is available to anyone with restricted mobility who is over the age of 14 and able to drive the vehicle safely (terms and conditions apply). Drivers must be accompanied by an able-bodied person.

There is one Tramper at Gisburn Forest, which can be booked in advance by contacting the Hub cafĂ© on 01200 446387 or by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

You can download the easy access trail here - 'Birch Hills Trail', and if you have a smartphone, be sure to download the Viewranger version before visiting.

There is no charge for the use of the Tramper, but we do request a donation to cover the charging and maintenance costs of keeping the Tramper in service.

For details of the opening times, visit the Gisburn Forest Cafe website.
